1861 Komenský

1861 Komensky, provisional designation 1970 WB, is an asteroid from the outer region of the asteroid belt. It was discovered by Czech astronomer Luboš Kohoutek at the Bergedorf Observatory in Hamburg, Germany on 24 November 1970.〔
The asteroid orbits the Sun at a distance of 2.8–3.2 AU once every 5 years and 3 months (1,916 days). Its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.06 and is inclined by 10 degrees to the plane of the ecliptic. Little is known about the asteroids size, composition, albedo and rotation, despite having a well-observed orbit with the lowest possible uncertainty of 0 and an observation arc that spans over a time period of almost half a century.〔
It was named in honor of Czech educational reformer and theologist, John Amos Comenius (1592–1670), known as Jan Amos Komenský in the original Czech language. He is considered the father of modern education and spend most of his life in exile.〔
